#9 - Climate Migration
Hi Greensters
🌍 As climate change intensifies, it’s not just ecosystems at risk - it’s estimated that over 1.2 billion people could be displaced by 2050, forced to flee uninhabitable regions. This week, we dive into the growing climate refugee crisis and look at what’s being done to prevent it.
🪐 Meanwhile, scientists may have spotted a potential “Planet B” - a newly discovered world that could sustain life.
🍦And to sweeten things up, we’ve got a plant-based chocolate ice cream made from avocado and cashew.
Enjoy!

🥗 The Green Meal
🥑 Avocados and cashews are known to have a relatively high climate impact among plant foods, but compared to dairy products, their overall environmental footprint is still much lower.
💪 Both also offer notable health benefits: avocados are rich in fiber, healthy fats, and vitamins that support heart health and help manage cholesterol, while cashews provide protein, healthy fats, and antioxidants that can improve heart health, support the immune system, and help regulate blood sugar.
♻️ Eco Tip
Awareness: 🪞 Microfiber pollution from synthetic clothes is a major source of ocean microplastics - just one laundry load can release hundreds of thousands of fibers.
Action: 🧺 Use a microfiber-catching laundry bag (like Guppyfriend) or filter to trap microplastics before they reach waterways.
